Texas Alliance for Good Government (TAGG)
A Nonpartisan Organization Formed to Promote Good Government, Civic Responsibility and Provide Educational and Civic Services for the Citizens of the State of Texas.
Dallas (February 4) – Texas Alliance for Good Government (TAGG), a nonpartisan organization formed to promote good government, civic responsibility and provide educational and civic services launched its first chapter in Dallas. Chapters are being organized or planned in large metropolitan areas across the state of Texas including Austin, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley. The first meeting in Dallas was held on January 7.
The local chapter’s officers is composed of influential ministers from across North Texas including Richie Butler (Union Cathedral), Juan Tolliver (St. Paul AME), Gerald Britt (Central Dallas Ministries), Sheron Patterson (Highland Hills United Methodist Church), Bryan Carter (Concord Missionary Baptist Church), R.E. Price (New Mt. Zion Baptist Church) and Frederick D. Haynes (Friendship West Baptist Church) who will serve as President.
TAGG plans to bring awareness to local communities on best practices for good government through special events, volunteer opportunities and partnerships with civic organizations.
TAGG’s executive board includes Jeremiah Booker, Denny Davis, Oscar Epps, Tyrone Gordon, Zan Holmes, Jerome McNeil, Donald Parish, George Pryor, Michael Pryor, Patrick Rucker, Rickie Rush and Leslie Smith.
